Born in October of 2000, Mikhail "Misha" Turgenev was almost 13 when the world ended and his family sought shelter in the Metro at Mendeleyevskaya, a station that would later become part of Hansa. Over the next twenty years, Misha would live the life more or less expected of someone living in the Moscow metro, taking care of pigs and chickens, and farming mushrooms all the while Mendeleyevskaya continued to slowly flood. Despite the circumstances and despite knowing how lucky he was to live in a Hansa station, Misha continued to dream of going back to the surface, by 2019 he would begin to save up all the bullets he could, buying his first Kalash in 2021, and by 2024 he bought a radiation suit. In 2026 he was finally prepared to go on his first trip to the surface. Despite nearly being carried off by a demon, nearly eaten alive by watchmen soon after and losing most of what he had scavenged, Misha returned back to Mendeleyevskaya happier then he ever had been since before the war, and despite protests from his parents who wanted something of a regular life for him he would continue to be a stalker for Mendeleyevskaya. By 2029 the station was still falling apart and flooding, and his parents were dead from a tuberculosis outbreak, due to this he decided it was time to move on, and by late 2029 he would take up residence at another Hansa station, this time in the south; Serpukhovskaya.
Ever since moving to the station, Misha has been continuing his career as a stalker, as well as getting involved with the more shaddy elements of those in the southern portion of Hansa.
Possible Plot 1 Trapped in the dead city: In a mission gone wrong, Misha has been trapped in the dead city, running low on filters and with the radiation beginning to damage his suit it is a race against time to get back to Serpukhovskaya, all the while trying to find ways to not get eaten or run out of clean air, or go insane from the ghosts in the city. Along the way he will meet other Stalkers in the city who either might help or impede his attempt to escape.
Possible Plot 2: A 2034 side story, Misha had been dragged into the plot line of the Metro 2034 novel, covers a similar plot but from the perspective of someone outside of Sevastopolskaya station.
(More to come maybe?)
Possible Plot 3: Deal Gone Wrong (Something of a sequel (both literally and thematically) to Trapped in the Dead City for those interested) The stations around the southern portion of Hansa such as Katay-Gorod, Venice and the stations between Shabolovskaya and Novye Cheremushki are all known throughout the metro for being the center of crime, controlled by numerous bandit gangs, kingpins, drug and weapon dealers, smugglers and other members of the criminal underworld, any upstanding citizen of Hansa would never, officially, be caught dead here. Unofficially is another story. Hansa is quite lassie-faire when it comes to how money is made, some take this more literally, such as Misha and Misha has been offered the chance of a lifetime by an old friend of his to make some medicine from Oktyabraskaya disappear and to find its way to some Shabolovskaya. As expected not everything goes according to plan and Misha must shoot his way out of the technical tunnels where the deal was taking place and make his way back home, avoiding the authorities and the bandits trying to find him.
Misha grunted loudly when the vodka made contact with his wound, muttering out a soft 'son of a bitch' as Ilia cleaned his wounds. Soon after Misha closed his eyes, trying to ignore the whole situation and focused on the bouncing around of the truck as it continued through The Dead City.
The truck continued down the main street of the city, before coming to an intersection, normally the Rangers would have driven straight through, but soon, before either Joe or any of the other Rangers could react something large, and almost pitch black in color shot out at incredible speeds from the road on the right, hitting the side of the truck and sending it spinning before it smacked into some wrecked cars stopping them.
"What the fu-fuck was that!?" Misha stammered out when the truck stopped spinning. Before any of the Rangers could do anything, Misha grabbed his AK and pushed the side door of the truck open, determined to figure out what happened but when he opened the door there was nothing. No mutant, no car belonging to any of the factions that would scavenge from this part of Moscow. Nothing except for long abandoned cars and on the left hand side of the road was a large, almost completely rusted away banged up bus. It's seats still filled with the skeletons of its passengers.
"W...what hit us?" Misha asked, thinking maybe a demon had collided with a car trying to pick it up but nothing was flying in the skies either.
Misha groaned looking up at the man.
Misha: "...Sorry?" He mumbled, trying to piece together what happened and how he got here.
Grischa mumbled something before forcing himself to sit up and then glaring at the man.
Grischa: "You better kill us now, boy. Because we'll finish you off if given the chance..." Grischa's voice soon rises, turning into a scream, hoping Sofka can hear him. " We'll kill you all--Starting with that bitch of yours!"
Misha: "Enough old man..."
Grischa: "Like I said boy, you should kill us now....
Grischa: "...So this is what happened to you fuckers huh? Fucking cave men living in the subway? What's next, Putin gonna walk through the door and say the world didn't end and it was all a joke?
Misha sighed sitting up and looking at the cannibal.
Misha: So...whose this worm we made angry?
While Misha waited, Grischa soon began to mumble to himself.
Grischa: "Can't believe those rumors from Polis were true....fucking worm worshiping cave men.
(OOC: I know it probably doesn't matter for the story, but in the books it seems the Rangers from Polis shot Park Pobedy up in 2033 then escaped into the Metro-2 line and ran off to the Kremlin, then again they didn't say which Park Pobedy it was, its a transfer station so there's technically two with the same name next to each other. Then they ran off, book wise I don't think they even mentioned it to anyone else and it more or less got forgotten in universe once they left. Maybe you can work with that, or if you want forget it, either way.)
"God damn it!" Grischa shouted, firing off the last of his AK's magazine before pulling Misha up and trying to pull him back to the train car and away from the fire. Misha meanwhile had lost his own AK but managed to pull out his side arm, a makarov pistol, and fired off a few rounds, hitting one of the attackers in the chest, but soon after something sharp pierced Misha's shoulder and he yelped in pain before the world became blurry and he started to feel numb. He fired off one more round which hit a wall and then he went limp.
"Come on!" Grischa yelled pulling his friend back further before letting his limp body go and then rushing to where the board had landed, he dove next to it and tried to make himself as small of a target as he could while he scrambled to reload his AK, just as he pulled the bolt back on his AK one of the tranquilizers hit the back of his boot which had only just been exposed from his cover by a few inches, and quickly pierced it. Soon the world began to become blurry as he pushed himself up and sprayed a few rounds from his AK in the direction of the attacks before falling forward onto the tracks after trying to get a few steps in.
Both Grischa and Mikhail had followed the woman willingly, but even before they had some doubts. Both knew there was no one in Park Pobedy, everyone in the Metro knew that. It was a long dead station, its inhabitants trapped behind a wall of rubble not long after the first war in the Metro in the mid 2010s, they had no doubt starved to death. Yet this woman was heading in its direction, and so confidently too. They wondered if perhaps someone had sent some colonists to restart the station but no doubt a story like that would have spread throughout the Metro like wildfire. Misha had started to guess on the possible alternatives, and the first was maybe this was an bandit ambush, they had hidden in long dead stations before and had occasionally used women to lure men into a kill zone. He still hadn't turned his AK's safety back on, and now he probably wouldn't even once they got to wherever she was leading them.
With their night vision they could begin to see the tell tale outline of a metro stations platforms and its pillars but before either could comment on it the woman dropped down to her stomach and something fell from the ceiling, Misha rammed his shoulder into the old man out of instinct, pushing him down on the tracks, with Misha going down after him, but soon the world began to tumble and spin as something smooth his his leg. From where she had dropped down Sofka could see the board hit on of the men, but seemingly out of luck it was a small section without the metal rods, even if it didn't result in the man getting his leg impaled on it, the speed and thickness of the board no doubt broke his leg, and the screams that came after soon proved that to her.
Misha: "Fuck!' He shouted as Grischa pushed the younger man off of him and then grabbed his Kalash, with his night visions somewhat awkwardly moved upwards he could begin to make out multiple figures near the stations platform, without hesitation he switch his AK to automatic and held down the trigger, soon the platform and the pillars were shot up and the sounds of another person screaming filled the air.
Both of the men were silent for a moment, Grischa seemed to be eyeing the girl oddly but it was hard to tell behind the night vision googles, and she could briefly see Misha's finger dance around the finger guard of his rifle before Grischa broke the silence.
Grischa: "Ok, lead on. Just no running off, ok?" He asked and held out a hand for the girl to help her up.
Grischa: "To help?" Grischa replied somewhat confused at how to proceed before continuing "I know we aint exactly doing good at first impressions but we aren't going to leave you in this tunnel. There might not be any people but God only know's what kind of beasts you'll find out here."
Grischa soon looked back at the train car then to the woman.
Grischa: "I highly doubt you live in the train car, all alone in this tunnel. So tell us, where can we drop you off?" He said looking the girls nose over.
Grischa: "Maybe we can even get that nose of yours fixed up, and that wound in your side as well. It may be just a graze but these tunnels are filthy, you'll need some antibiotics for it." Grischa explained.
Misha managed to see her moving from the corner of his eyes.
Misha: "Oh no you don't!" He yelled, grabbing her by the leg and yanking her away from the train car as hard as he could.
Grischa: "What the hell are you doing? There's nothing in that train car, girl!
"And they said the Rangers were the most discipline soldiers in Metro." Misha said as as the two argued, then stifled a moan from the pain in his body as the truck lurched forward, taking him partially with it due to inertia, and began to drive through the city.
Both men crouched down by the injured woman.
Grischa: "Alive?...Yes, so it would seem..." He mumbled looking at the wound.
Misha: "Oh, it's a woman!" The stalker said ignoring her previous comment.
Grischa: "You're observation skills are just perfect, my friend." Grischa mumbled before looking at the person he shot.
Grischa: "As for you being alive, there's no guarantee that will last for long I'm afraid....Where are you from, girl?...You're a long way from either the Arbat or the Ring....and no one's come out of Park Pobedy in decades...
Misha turned to the old man.
Misha: "There's alot of technical tunnels and maintenance rooms around here...maybe one of them?"
Grischa: "Maybe...most would lead to the red line, or to the Filiseyevska Line...but I doubt she's from Fili, she doesn't look like she's seen the sun for a while."
Soon both men more or less debate it amongst themselves, seemingly not bothered by the injured person.
Misha: "See, I told you it was a human!" Misha called out as both of the men hurried over to the figure.
Grischa: "Shut up, Misha!"
Grischa hurried ahead of his companion and over to the person.
Grischa: "We told you not to run...." He muttered as he continued over.
Grischa: "Hey! We heard you speaking Russian, speak up if your still alive!"
