Brothers

Richie had settled in with his newer life with Kae. He was still only a temporary ranger so he couldn't take Kae with him so most of his funds went to keeping them fed and her housed while he worked. She did help where she could, with what she did best.

It was about the time that the flood of refugees from Oberon happened that Richie knew that something bad was about to happen.

He tried his best to avoid what he could of the refugees but it was an inevitable moment that Seth or Tonka would see him and approach. He mostly hoped it would be his sister and not his brother though life didn't always turn out the way that people wanted.

Thanks to his parents connections they had it better than many of the refugees, but circumstances were still tight. Damian, Derek, Seth and Alice were all sharing a room while Red, Violet and Tonka the other. The lack of privacy had become grating swiftly and they all stayed out when possible.

Seth and Alice had started the day out sniping at one another until they'd agreed to separate 0n errands to cool off. She headed off to find breakfast while he went to haggle for a few supplies. He was leaving the market when chance put him on the same path as his brother.

He was still sore with the younger man over his percieved abandonment and if he'd had a chance he would have veered off. But they were walking dead toward one another and made eye contact. Seth cursed under his breath as he slowed, "Guess your caravan made it through after all."

"Yeap," Richie said curtly with a nod to his brother. "Reich pushed you all out of Oberon huh?" he said not sure what else to say at the moment. He was honestly preparing to get into a fight with his brother right here if he said the wrong thing.

Seth cocked a brow at his brother. He'd just said he knew about the Oberon refugees - They'd been there two weeks now. This was the first confirmation Seth had that his brother was actually in Polis.

Where'd the self centered prick get off acting like he gave a shit?

"At this point I'm not sure she'd care for you to know but you can always ask her."

"When I see her, I will," or more likely he'd ask around the Rangers and find out for himself. The conversation fell off there. Richie really didn't have a lot to say to Seth, he didn't feel like he owed Seth an explanation, especially since he wasn't asking for one.

"Right. Like I said we're not going to be around much longer," he warned, though he didn't believe for a second Richie was going to show up, "anyway I've got to finish this supply run."
