Charlotte Daniels
Charlotte had been in Polis officially for a few months now. She was showing more which answered the question that everyone was too afraid to ask one of their high ranking commanders. Rangers feared him more than they cared to know why his girlfriend was transferred from Bumansky to Polis permanently. The only thing they cared about was that they got to Bumansky, got her stuff and got back again safely. Charlotte was feeling stir crazy and despite knowing that Dagonet may be checking in on her soon she left her little make-shift shop to wander around Polis a little, stretch her legs. Maybe get some "fresher" air.
Yekaterina "Katya" Antipina
Charlotte wasn't the only person wandering Polis, not far from the transfer to the southern part of the station where most of the scientists and historians resided a young woman had begun to ask questions about various tunnels and rooms that few were meant to go into, and even a few only certain people knew were there. Meanwhile at the entrance to Polis two Stalkers had been let in and immediately began to make a bee line for the offices belonging to the local militia of Polis, the Kshatriya, passing by Charlotte in the process. It was two men in radiation suits, one incredibly old by metro standards, nearing his sixties by the looks of him, and one younger, maybe in his mid thirties, the old mans son perhaps? "There's no way we're gonna find her in here!" The old man whispered to his companion quietly. "Like I said, the Kshatriya will probably know more!" The young man whispered back as they continued for the offices. "I want to know how she made it past the guards at the Arbat and into Polis without anyone knowing. There's gonna be hell to pay if Polis learns someone crossed their border that easily, and we're gonna have to pay it!" The old man continued with his rant. Charlotte Daniels
As Charlotte walked into the two stalkers. Well it was more that someone behind her bumped into her she stumbled into the younger one who half caught her. "Excuse me," she said as she pushed herself back to her feet. She was a small woman, cleaner than most as Dagonet took good care of her plus she hadn't been working on anything that day. She smiled to them as her hand went unconsciously to her belly as it happened more and more recently. @AnOriginalAccountNam
Mikhail "Misha" Turgenev
@Morrigan Misha apologized as she bumped into him mostly out of instinct, he was about to continue with Grischa before he saw the woman grab her belly and sighed. "Come on, Misha!" the older stalker almost shouted, Misha shook his head, more so to himself than to the older stalker. "I'll catch up." Misha said. Unlike Grischa, Misha had not made many friends in Polis, neither amongst the local Kshatyria, nor the Spartan Rangers. Well, except one months ago... The older man sighed loudly before Misha gave him an odd look then nodded to the Kshatriya offices. Looking at the woman, Misha looked her over. She looked like someone native to Polis, probably knew everyone here...could probably spot an outsider easily... "I said I'll catch up, Grischa." Misha said once more and the old man sighed once more before heading off for the offices. "I'm sorry about my....well colleague for lack of a better term. He's not exactly the friendliest man in the metro. Are you ok?" Misha asked, somewhat concerned.
Charlotte Daniels
"Oh he's not the worst I've seen," she grinned, "and I'm fine. Just trying to get out of my workshop for a few minutes and dodging my dorogoy for a few minutes," she said with a jesting huff and grin. "You'd be surprised how overprotective he could be. I'm Chuck," she said her name in her Brittish accent knowing full well they said it more like chack or chewck depending on the dialect. She still answered to both though. @AnOriginalAccountNam
Mikhail "Misha" Turgenev
@Dragon @Morrigan "Misha" Misha replied and then titled his head slightly, trying to place her accent. "That's an interesting accent you got there..." He said finally giving up on trying to place it. "I don't think I've heard one like it since before the war." He explained. Charlotte Daniels
Charlotte shrugged. “Not many of us left,” she admitted. “But can’t seem to get rid of it unfortunately.” @AnOriginalAccountNam
Mikhail "Misha" Turgenev
@Morrigan @Dragon Misha nodded "No there really isn't....still though your Russian is good." Misha noted before moving onto what he had in mind. "Do you live in Polis by any chance?" He asked. Meanwhile in the office of Captain Ruslan Belikov, the currently leader of the Polis Kshatriya, Grischa has finally been allowed in. "It's been sometime, Grischa. How has the Arbat been treating you?" Belikov asked, going through a desk in his room, looking for some shroom vodka for his old friend. It had been a few years since Grischa had stopped in Polis. "I do not have time for pleasantries I'm afraid, Rusya. I need some help." Grischa muttered and leaned back in his chair. "Help?....Oh shit you look serious, what happened?" "It's a long story, Rusya..." Grischa sighed and began to explain. "I'm sure if this was offical you'd give me some crap about it being classified but...as a friend tell me the truth." Grischa began, hoping his friend would keep this between them. "I'll try my best....I've bent over backwards to get around classified stuff for you and Misha before, so I'll do it again if I need to. Speaking of which where is he?" "Last I checked talking to some woman a few meters away from your office." Grischa said. "Does Misha at least have good taste in women?" Belikov asked with a slight chuckle. "I wish, but we can discuss that later--I'm serious I need some help." Grischa said, almost angrily. "Ok, ok. Tell me what it is." Belikov said, returning back to his somewhat serious demeanor after holding up his hands in a mock surrender to calm Grischa down. Grischa sighed, knowing that this would probably set off some alarm bells somewhere in Polis, so he offered up something of a prayer to whatever God might still exist. "Is it true there are old maintence tunnels leading to Emerald City....from Polis?" Grischa finally asked after a long silence, and soon Belikov's face went white. "....How...who told you?" Belikov stuttered out confued. "So there is...." Grischa mumbled.
Charlotte Daniels
"Well I do now. I used to be in Bumanskaya but I visited here often enough it was my home away from home. But...." was she supposed to or allowed to tell people she was pregnant? Was it strange? Could it be seen terrible for those that couldn't? Charlotte considered it all before she decided she didn't care. "I got pregnant and my ranger boyfriend basically insisted I come here. I've been here a few months officially now. "He thinks its safer. I always think that you don't kill the people that fix everything but that could just be me," she said talking a bit too much. @AnOriginalAccountNam
Mikhail "Misha" Turgenev
@Morrigan Misha gave a small smile and nodded. "I'd say I'd agree with him--and I had a feeling you were, I saw your hand move after you bumped into me...uh congratulations." Misha said somewhat awkwardly. "Since you're somewhat familiar with Polis I was wondering if I could ask you a favor, I'm looking for someone. A family friend, a girl...25, almost 26. Short black hair, coming up to about my shoulders, skinny as a twig?" Misha asked, thinking how to best make Katya stand out. "No doubt asking about the tunnels around Polis..." he finally said. Meanwhile Belikov had decided to pour himself some of the vodka, knowing he'd need a drink after all of this, Grischa still turned one down. "I'll ask again." Belikov said before downing his drink. "How did you learn about that?" "I didn't, someone I know did. She's....borderline obsessed with rumors about Emerald City, and Metro-2 overall. She thinks its paradise out there, and it seems that one of the newest rumors is Polis links directly to the portion of Metro-2 that leads to the University." Grischa explained and Belikov sighed. "No one has directly links to Emerald City." Belikov started, somewhat tiredly. "I know--no one has since the war....at least nothing offical." Grischa said, trying to lead his friend on and Belikov shook his head. "And nothing unofficial. It's been five years since we lost D6, and even with the bits of maps we have pertaining to Metro-2 we havn't found anything that links to Emerald City. It truly is cut off." Belikov explained and Grischa nodded. "You still are dancing around the tunnels though, Polis does connect to Metro-2, yes?" Grischa asked and Belikov shook his head. "Yes and no, it connects to part of it, mostly old storage areas and some maintence tunnels that are not on any public map....beyond that we've never bothered searching. We more or less plugged them up when Polis was formed." Belikov explained, begining to pour himself another drink.
Charlotte Daniels
The first person to Charlotte's mind was Asche the ranger. Its was a close enough description. "I know a few women that look like that honestly," save for the pudgy belly and brown hair even Charlotte technically fit the description herself. "Of everyone I'd be the best person to ask though. I know basically every tunnel, hole or anything in and out of Polis most of the maintenance is done through them," she advised him naively. This was why she tended to stick with people she knew. "And being that I've been doing maintenance here for over 15 years I'd say I know the most," she advised him. @AnOriginalAccountNam
Mikhail "Misha" Turgenev
@Morrigan Misha nodded and internally sighed. "Well it was worth a try, thanks ma'am." He said and began to head towards the Kshatriya office when Grischa came out with Belikov and two other Kshatriya, Misha stopped in his tracks. "What the hell is this?" Misha asked, somewhat unnerved by the guards, nothing good ever came of anything the Kshatriya were involved in. "I'll explain later" Grischa said. "Mr. Turgenev, Mr. Blok, please come with me." Belikov said and began to head for one of the hallways leading into the Polis maintenance tunnels. "Come on, Misha." Grischa ordered, beginning to push the young stalker down the hallway. Charlotte Daniels
"I guess it was nice to meet you," Charlotte said to the man as he was nearly pulled away from her. "Do you need help?" she asked honestly. "Like I said my boyfriend is a ranger," she said as she watched them get further away. @AnOriginalAccountNam
Mikhail "Misha" Turgenev
@Morrigan With a confused look, Misha shouted out 'It'd be great!' as he was pushed ahead. "Stop fussing!" Belikov ordered. "They'll be enough time to bother the women, Misha!" Grischa added, following the group. "Head home, ma'am!" Belikov called back at Charlotte before continuing to lead the group to a small side room then inside before closing the door behind them. "Seriously, Grischa what the hell?!" Misha almost shouted once the door was closed. "We'll never find Katya by running around Polis." Grischa began. "So you're plan is to cause a scene!?" Misha shot back before Grischa shook his head. "If she managed to sneak past the border guards she's no doubt already in the station--good news is most of the maintenance tunnels and storage rooms that make up the portion of Metro-2 that Polis is connected to have been 'plugged up' as Belikov here puts it." Grischa continued and Misha just gave a confused look. "So?" Misha finally asked. "So, that girlfriend of yours will basically have only a few choices--break into this room, or take the vents, which also lead to this portion of the maintenance tunnels then the storage rooms. We've kept parts of them unplugged so to speak, a good chunk of them serve as storage for the Kshatriya's ammunition, and medical supplies for the Brahman involved in medicine, among other things. The point is she doesn't have alot of places to go, and we'll all be waiting in the few places she could conceivably find herself in." Belikov explained before Grischa could continue then glared at Misha before adding "And when she does show up as far as I am concerned she is no longer allowed anywhere near Polis, let alone in it, and I'm almost tempted to have the same done to both of you! "...So what now we just wait?" Misha asked and Belikov sighed in annoyance. "Well some of you will, the rest of us are gonna head down the tunnel to the storage rooms, see if she's there." Belikov said and then ordered the two Kshatriya to come with him while Grischa and Misha remained in the maintenance room they were hurried into. Charlotte Daniels
Charlotte wasn't sure he was serious to start but when he both didn't return and didn't come out of he room he was in she nervously waited a few more minutes before she finally returned to where she knew her boyfriend was likely anxiously waiting for her. "Sorry Dag," she said looking about as anxious as she felt at the moment which he knew would not be good. @AnOriginalAccountNam@Dragon
