Kazimir "Kaz" Maslov
"The only way to find out whether or not that's true would be to go look for ourselves," Kazimir said. He watched her, seeking any signs of emotion that might be present in her body language. @Morrigan Edited August 17, 2020 by Grimscythe
Josephine Sousa
Joe didn't answer at first, she took a drink of her vodka rolling her shoulders. "It sounds like suicide but my old man... he seemed so sure that he wasn't in the Metro somewhere. It just seems so impossible, doesn't it?" @Grimscythe
Kazimir "Kaz" Maslov
Kazimir rolled a shoulder upward. "Life has a one hundred percent mortality rate, Joe. The question is, would you rather spend it not knowing?" @Morrigan
Josephine Sousa
"Yeah... thanks for the sagely advice Kaz. Really helps me put my head on straight," she rolled her eyes. "If you're just gonna give me bullshit then I don't know why we're even talking right now. I've heard enough of that shit to choke on and die with." Albeit most of it was think before acting and harm none sort of shit but that was beside the point. She didn't need someone preaching to her, she needed someone to actually talk to her. @Grimscythe
Kazimir "Kaz" Maslov
"I don't know what you want me to say, Joe," he admitted, his jaw tensing with frustration. Kaz took another drink, exhaled slowly. "You want it plain and simple? Then what do you have to lose? If someone thinks anything exists out there, then I'm going. This life blows." @Morrigan
Josephine Sousa
"See that... that doesn't sound stupid." @Grimscythe
Kazimir "Kaz" Maslov
"Thanks, I guess," Kazimir said mostly under his breath. He liked to think he wasn't stupid, but compared to Ilia, if that was Joe's guide for brightness, he was definitely a burnt out lightbulb. He continued to eat his sandwich in silence, mulling over her words. "Anyways, I'm not interested in continuing to face my mortality in a graveyard for the rest of my life. So yeah, I'd be interested in going to the surface and finding out the truth." @Morrigan
Josephine Sousa
"I kinda am too," she admitted. "Just knowing my dad came home is enough to consider it. I've been mad at the old bastard but I know he'd never just leave me. Family was always important to him." @Grimscythe
Kazimir "Kaz" Maslov
Family was always important to Kazimir, too, though if he ever spoke an opinion about Joe's father in the past, he couldn't remember it. "Then I guess we ought to make those arrangements, and I might ought to meet your father. I don't imagine he's letting you go up there with some guy he doesn't know, no matter what he thinks of the surface's current state." @Morrigan
Josephine Sousa
Joe eyed Kazmir. "I'm not sure I'm ready to let you meet my dad he's as big as you and meaner than me," she said to him. "Not exactly the best person to introduce the guy that I cheated on my boyfriend with, to," she said. Joe honestly didn't know that Kaz liked her more than just a bang. She knew how he was, heard the locker room talk as it was and she thought she was just another notch on the belt. "Besides it's gonna take time to collect the stuff we need to go. Its not like its a routine trip to the surface where you only need a days worth of filters," she said. @Dragon
Kazimir "Kaz" Maslov
Kazimir couldn't hide the smirk that teased the corner of his mouth, and so he stuck a bottle in it instead. Hard to smile while drinking, right? The idea of Joe's father didn't terrify him as much as it should, but that was more of that lack of self-preservation he seemed to champion as a strength, when it was more a flaw in his character than anything else. A dangerous one at that. He could feel her eyes on him and as he lowered the bottle, he met her stare. "When you're ready then," he said sincerely. "I have no desire to make you feel worse than you already do." @Morrigan
Josephine Sousa
"Kinda hard now ain't it?" she asked him. "I think I'm about at the lowest point I've ever been in." @Grimscythe
Kazimir "Kaz" Maslov
"Then you'll only go as far as you'll let yourself. Can't shoulder all the blame, Joe. Can't undo it, can't walk back in time. If we could, we wouldn't be in this mess, would we?" He lifted a hand, reaching to touch her cheek. "Can't stop living just because you fuck up." @Morrigan
Josephine Sousa
Joe pulled her face away from Kaz’s hand. “What the fuck are you doing. I’m not in the mood to be a repeat ho in your bed. Aren’t I already a notch on your belt Kaz?” @Dragon
Kazimir "Kaz" Maslov
"What?" Kaz responded, dropping his hand from her face. His dark eyes appeared conflicted. "What makes you think that's all you are, Joe?" There was a low growling note to his voice, as if her words upset and angered him. He'd never thought of her that way in particular, and it was a bit of an insult. Not that he could blame her; she had no other knowledge of him to go off on other than what others saw and said. @Morrigan
